Arrive Chiang Mai – Visa

Day
2 : Chiang Mai (B, L , D)
Breakfast in hotel – Full day
Chiang Mai City Tour. Visit the most interesting temples in Chiang Mai,
like Wat Phra Singh with its famous Buddha image, Wat Chiang Man, the
oldest temple in Chiang Mai (built by King Mangrai), and Wat Suan Dok,
housing remains of many generations of the old Chiang Mai royal families.
Also visit Wat Doi Suthep, tucked away in the mountains at 1,056 meters
above sea level. Visit to Handicraft Villages, to observe manufacturing of
lacquerware, spinning and weaving of Thai Silk and paper umbrella making.
Also visit famous Thai wood-carving factory, with possibility of purchasing
Burmese antiques. Lunch at local restaurant. Kantoke Dinner. Enjoy a
typical Thai dinner with presentation of ancient dances from northern Thailand,
followed by a performance of dances and songs of various hilltribes.
Overnight in Chiang Mai
Day 3 : Chiang Mai-Hmong Hilltribe Lodge (B,
L , D)
Depart Chiang Mai to visit Mae
Ping elephant camp and watch elephants taking timber in forest. Their
strength and strategic teamwork will amaze you.
Recommended Option: Take one-hour
elephant safari into the surrounding countryside. Extra: Baht 600.- per
person (two person per elephant).
Continue visit of orchid farm and lunch at Mae Saa Valley Resort.
Proceed by landrover to Hmong
Hilltribe Lodge. On the way, visit Meo hilltribe village at Nong Hoi Mai
and Ban Meo Mae Ki.
BBQ dinner at HMONG HILLTRIBE LODGE followed by presentation of Meo dances
and overnight there
Day 4 : Hmong Hilltribe Lodge-Thatorn-Chiang Rai (B,
L , D)
Depart for Fang and Thatorn via
Chiang Dao. Short stop at village
of Chiang Dao for
drinks and stroll around local market. En route, visit Huay Luek, a Meo
hilltribe village. After arrival in Thatorn, a small village just a few
kilometers from the Burmese border, lunch is served at Mae Kok River
Village Resort. Continue to visit Ban Lorcha, a Phami Akha hilltribe
community center. This community-based tourism development project promotes
sustainable, self-reliant development to improve the quality of life of
villagers of this Akha Community, and is a model for tourism in Hilltribe
villages. Drive to Ban Pha Tai and board on motor-powered traditional boats
for three-hour journey down Kok
River, passing tiny
hilltribe villages, bamboo huts and jungle. Arrive early evening in Chiang
Rai and check in at hotel .

Day
5 : Chiang Rai – Golden Triangle – Chieng Khong (B,
L , D)
Breakfast in hotel - By car to
Golden Triangle. Take boat ride on Mekong
River where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar
and Laos
meet. Depart for Chiang Saen to visit the Lisu Village
at Baan Mae Kaotom and continue to Doi Mae Salong passing through beautiful
mountain scenery. The view from the top takes in a large part of Thailand, Myanmar
and the Mekhong
Valley which makes
this trip very worthwhile. Lunch at Mae Salong Villa in Doi Mae Salong.
Drive to Ban Lorcha, a Phami Akha hilltribe community center. This
community-based tourism development project promotes sustainable,
self-reliant development to improve the quality of life of villagers of
this Akha Commnuity, and is a model for tourism in Hilltribe villages.
Continue to Chieng Khong , the border city between Thailand/Lao for Dinner
and Overnight in Chieng Khong
Day 7 :
Chieng Khong / Houisay – Pakbeng - Hongsa (B, L, D)
Breakfast in hotel - Across Chiangkong-Houisay
Immigration Check-Point (Thailand / Lao border) , visa formality – Welcome
Group at border by Lao Tourguide then take a boat trip down south along the
Mekong River to Pakbeng Visit Hmong and Khmu villages at Ban Houei Lampen
en route, where unique traditions are still being preserved. See women in
traditional uniforms with solid silver necklaces showing their embroidery
outside their houses. Also stop to visit Lu village on the bank of the Mekong river where most women still practise in
crafts. Continue by boat to Ban Thaxouang and then transfer to Hongsa by
road. Arrive in Hongsa – Dinner and Overnight in Hongsa.
Day 8 : Hongsa – Luang Prabang (B, L, D)
After breakfast, visit Hongsa
cultural house, the only place where you can see a lignite become logs with
the age of 25-40 millions year old and other ethnic belongings. Transfer to
Ban Thaxoang along the Mekong river by
speed boat. En route visit the Pak Ou cave with their lacquered Buddha
statues and Ban Xangxai, the rice wine distillation village. Also visit Vat
Longkhoune, the royal temple which has survived, where the king used to
stay for several days on retreat before being enthroned. Arrive in Luang
Prabang by crossing the Mekong river (Luangprabang , the former Royal
capital City of Laos , the crown jewel of the ancient Lane Xang Empire (pronounced
‘lane sang’) – the Land of a
Million Elephants ) - Transfer by car to hotel – Check in –
Dinner – Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 9 : Luang Prabang –
Kwangsi waterfall (B, L)
Full day city tour of this ancient
capital city of the Lao Kingdom beautifully situated on the Mekong surrounded by hills. Visit Wat Visoun, Wat May, Wat Xieng Thong (Wat Xieng Thong is
considered to emphasize & characterize the uniqueness of Luang
Prabang’s local style: its several roofs sweep low to the ground. See also the impressive "tree of
life" mosaic here. The gilt panel on the exterior of the chapel depicts
semi-erotic episodes from the Ramayana) , Wat Praphuthabat, National Museum known as former Royal Palace .PM.
excursion to visit Khuang Si
waterfall , the falls cascade over
many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool,
turquoise pools. The water here has a clear blue-green tint due to the high
mineral content. You can climb the
stairs and look down from various high viewpoints on the way to the top!.
Late p.m. return trip to Luangprabang to visit Ban Phanom weaving village and Ban Sangkong village (paper making from mulberry tree) and
followed by enjoy sunset over Mekhong river and panoramic view of
Luangprabang City on Chomsi/Phousi Mount. Phou Sii hill stands right in the center of this small
city. Climb its 350 steps to enjoy
commanding views for many miles in each direction. Wat
Phu Sii sits atop the mountain, along side the skeletons of Indochina war anti-aircraft
guns! Then continue to visit Wat Mai. Built in 1796, the five-tiered roof of
the wooden Sim (chapel) emphasizes the graceful Luang Prabang architectural
style - Free for exploring city. Luang
Prabang is a wonderful walking town and you can find dinner on your own at any number of clean &
delicious international restaurants - Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 10 : Luang Prabang - Xieng Khoang (B, L, D)
Early morming 05h00 to go to the monks
procession in town. You can give the monks the food (rice , fruits …). Back
to hotel for Breakfast. After breakfast drive with your guide by car up to Xieng Khouang through
the moutainous road via Phoukhoune, on the way you will have a chance
to have an overview the experience the local life style along the
mountianous road through the tropical rain forest . Upon arrival
at Phonsavan , visit the plain of
jars (The Mysterious Plain of Jars scattered on a hill frame slope ,
about 12 Kilometers ourtside (
Phonsavan ) are over 300 giant jars of unknown origin they weight between
one and six tons each and must be over 1000 years age. - on way back ,
visit Phonsavanh Market - O/N in Xieng khoang.
Day 11 : Xieng Khouang – Vientiane

After
breakfast , transfer to the airport for the
flight to Vientaine – Welcome Group
at airport by Vientiane Tourguide - Transfer to hotel – Full day visit Vientiane : go on
tour to some of the main monastories in the areas such as Prakeo ( the
original home of the emerald Buddha) , Anousavari (Vientiane arc de
Triumph), Wat Sisaket (the house of thousand Buddha images), Prathatluang stupa (the stupa that kept
the relic of Lord Buddha) and enjoy
sunset at Mekong Riverside. –Have dinner with traditional folklore
songs and dances of Lao – O/N in Vientiane.
Day 12 : Vientiane (B)
