Sam Son Beach
is situated in Sam
Son Town
, Thanh Hoa province. In 1907, the French colonial government started to
develop Sam Son into a holiday resort for French civil servants and
officials based in Thanh Hoa and northern Vietnam. Sam
Son was only a collection of sun-baked sand dunes rising above long
pools of blue water.

Dong Loc Road Junction is situated in Dong Loc
Commune, Can Loc District . During the war
against the United
States, Dong Loc Road Junction
is a point of the connection between the north and Ho Chi Minh
Trail.American aircrafts heavily bombarded the area in repeated efforts
to destroy the junction. The less than 20km section of road underwent
2,057 air bombardments . A unit of ten young
female volunteers, aged 17 to 20 and led by Vo Thi Tan, was assigned to
keep the road open to traffic. Despite repeated heavy bombardments,
they stayed at their post, using only shovels and hoes to level bomb
craters. They were all tragically killed during an air attack on July
24, 1968. A monument engraved with the names of the ten heroines was
erected on a hill at the Dong Loc Road Junction

Province. The low mountains in proximity to the sea have created a
beautiful landscape. Separated from the mountain foot by a sandbank,
Yen Lac Pagoda, built during the 13th century, is a relic preserved by
the government. A famous set of paintings called "the King of
Hell's Ten Palaces" has been kept in the pagoda since the
beginning of the century. The French built Thien Cam as a resort, but

Vinh Moc Tunnels is situated in
Vinh Thach Commune, Vinh Linh District. a
place well-known as an underground village designed to avoid
bombardments during the American War,
The spectacular tunnel network stands as a testament to the
endurance, wisdom and bravery of the local people in their fight for
independence. The network's total length is nearly 2km, structured into
three floors with the first 13m beneath the ground, the second 15m and
the third, 23m. The village was built over two years and required
approximately 6,000 m³ of earth to be dug out. It is linked to the
sea by seven exits, which also function as ventilators,
and to a nearby hill by another six. The "underground
village" was home to 94 families and included wells to supply
water, a meeting room for 60 people, toilets, a maternity ward, an
operating theatre, rice stores, switchboards and observation posts.

Hue is located on the central coast of Vietnam
to the north of Danang and midway between Hanoi
and Ho Chi Minh City.
In the 19th century it was the cultural and intellectual centre and
home to the emperors of Vietnam.
At the meeting of the 17th session
of the World Heritage Committee (WHC) in Columbia,
from the 6th to the 11th of December 1993, UNESCO has come to the
decision of recognising the architectural ensemble of Hue as a world cultural heritage. On
2 August 1994, the delivery of the recognising text has been organised
at the Imperial Palace of Hue. This was a noteworthy event in the
cultural history. For the reason that Hue
is the first site in Vietnam

From the 16th to 18th
centuries, Hoi An was a thriving international
commercial port for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and
Arab traders. These people came to trade primarily for the high-grade
silk, which is still produced in the area, and ceramics. The area is
now one of four world heritage listed sites in Vietnam. Today, Hoi An is a quaint riverside town popular among tourists
for its eclectic architecture, souvenir and tailor shops, and cafes.

Cham Towers of Po Nagar, is
situated on Cu Lao marble hill, 2km north of Nha Trang, in Khanh Hoa Province.
Po Nagar Cham Towers were built between the 8th and 13th centuries on a site that had been used for Hindu worship as early as the
2nd century.
The largest of the four remaining towers was built in honour of the
Goddess Po Nagar, also known as Lady Thien Y Ana or Lady Mother of the
Kingdom.

Takou Mountain Ta Cu Pagoda is located in Ta
Cu Mountain,
Tan Lap Village,
Ham Thuan Nam District. Not only is the mountain interesting but a
white reclining Buddha (Tuong Phat Nam),

at 49m is situated here. It takes about 2 hours of trekking to get to
but is well worth the wander. There is also a pagoda of some note
located in the same spot that was built in 1861 that make the trip even
more inviting

Mui Ne Beach is
located 24 km North-East of the town of Phan Thiet. It is a fishing village
as well as a familiar tourism area in Binh Thuan
Province. It is
found on Highway No. 706, and features sweeping sand dunes and
beautiful rows of palm trees. The beach is shallow and sloped, the
water is clean and blue and the sun rarely hides behind clouds. There
are desolate and primeval beaches that have never witnessed human
exploitation as well as imposing landscapes
